The Washington State Auditor has given the Sno-Isle Libraries a clean bill of financial health––for the 24th year in a row.

Each year, the State Auditor reviews financial records and practices of tax-supported entities.  The Auditor evaluates accounting practices, reviews payroll and bill paying records, and analyzes financial systems for tracking how tax dollars are spent.  Because of the size of its budget, the Sno-Isle Libraries is audited annually, in compliance with state law.  This most recent audit was for 2008.

The Sno-Isle Libraries serves more than 646,000 residents in Snohomish and Island counties.  Sno-Isle has community libraries in Arlington, Brier, Camano Island, Clinton, Coupeville, Darrington, Edmonds, Freeland, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens, Langley, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, Oak Harbor, Snohomish, Stanwood, and Sultan, as well as Mobile Services for the homebound and local daycares, as well as bookmobile stops in communities and at senior centers.

Services and materials include 1.3 million items, reference services, electronic databases and computer equipment, Internet access, outreach programs for the homebound and local daycares, and story times for children.
