Everett Police Department arson detectives have determined that the fire that destroyed the Emory’s Lake House Restaurant on November 9, 2009 was arson. Investigators have been processing evidence since the day of the fire and have now determined that the fire was intentionally set. Investigators are not yet ready to disclose what type of forensic evidence was collected and processed for them to reach this conclusion as they are still in the investigative phase of this case.
This fire was report on November 9, 2009 at approximately 4:20 a.m. More than 40 firefighters from Everett, Lake Stevens, and Marysville responded to the call at the restaurant, 11830 19th Ave. SE. The fire forced the closure of 19th Ave SE (SR527) in the south end of the city for several hours while firefighters fought the fire. There was no one injured or killed in this fire however the restaurant was a total loss.
