On May 23rd, the usually quiet and serene Centennial Trail is set to become the new
buzz of Snohomish when a group of local moms, joined by hundreds of runners,
moves forward in an effort to support the local Search and Rescue team. The
Monkey Run 5k celebrates its debut event with fitness and community at the
forefront of its mission.

The team of women behind this event consists of dedicated mothers that joined
forces to create Proud Monkey Events, an organization with a mission to promote
wellness in the lives of others. This race is making an effort to raise community
interest in health and in supporting local organizations, by offering weekly running
meetings, a couch‐to‐5k training program, and the Monkey Run 5k race. This year,
race proceeds will help support Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue, an
organization dedicated to helping lost hikers, children, climbers and more.
