The Housing Authority of Snohomish County is pleased to announce new funding for its Housing Rehabilitation Program. A little over $450,000 has been committed for the purpose of loans to low and modest income homeowners living within the county.
The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program has been helping families of Snohomish County for more than 20 years tackle necessary, but often unaffordable, repairs to their homes. Typically, the program helps with most any issue that might compromise the integrity of a home. Leaking roofs, failing siding, and water damage are just a few examples of items that can be addressed with the funding.
As always, applicants have an opportunity to use 0-3% loans to improve their homes, with deferred loans available for qualifying seniors and disabled households.
The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program has staff that meets with homeowners to assess their homes’ needs, help qualify them, and help them all through the entire construction process, to assure that all the work is done properly.
While the economy continues to be a concern, and especially so for modest income earners, a bonus for homeowners who do have work done with the program are how much further their funds go now than just a few years ago.
To be eligible, households must be owner occupants, live in Snohomish County outside the city limits of Everett and Bothell and fall below maximum income guidelines-1 person $44,800 2 person $51,200….5 person $69,000.
