United Way looking for volunteer teams for Days of Caring
Volunteer registration is now open for United Way’s Days of Caring, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24 and 25 at sites around Snohomish County.
Teams and individuals can go online now at www.uwsc.org and click on Volunteer to find projects, which are being added to daily. Hands-on projects include painting, building, cleaning, environmental projects and reading to kids.
Agencies can register their 2010 Days of Caring projects through Aug. 20. Volunteers may register through September 14.
Last year, there were 1,062 Days of Caring volunteers at 56 projects giving over 6,370 hours valued at $129,000. They also showed community spirit and built teamwork while lending a much-needed hand to nonprofit agencies.
