Applicants looking to receive rebates are being placed on a waiting list

Cash for Appliances Washington announced today that all rebate funds have been committed and now await final processing. It’s the beginning of the final stage for the Department of Commerce’s popular program that has helped over 40,000 consumers transition from out-of-date appliances to highly-efficient ENERGY STAR® models.

For those wondering if there’s still time to apply, any applications received now will be placed on a waiting list.  There’s no guarantee that you’ll receive a rebate, but in the event any applications currently being evaluated don’t qualify, the waiting queue will be processed in the order received. This is expected to continue over approximately the next seven weeks until all funds are paid out.

To date, Cash for Appliances has stimulated upwards of $35 million in retail sales and provided more than $5 million in rebates to Washington residents who have purchased ENERGY STAR® appliances.

Cash for Appliances has been a true win-win for Washington State, offering a much needed economic boost to retailers, while participating households are receiving cash back on their appliance purchases and saving monthly on their energy bills. The infusion of ENERGY STAR® appliances into the marketplace means the program is sure to have a lasting, positive environmental impact.

During this final phase of the Cash for Appliances Washington Program, processing times may exceed seven weeks and call center hold times will be significantly longer.
