OLYMPIA— The State Transportation Commission released its proposal to establish photo tolling on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge this week.  The commission is proposing a $5.50 toll for those who do not have a Good to Go! transponder or who do not stop at the toll booth and pay cash.  The proposal does not make any changes to the current $2.75 rate for Good To Go! drivers or the $4.00 rate for cash payers stopping at the toll booths.  The commission will be taking public comment on the proposal between now and Jan. 25, 2011.

Two public meetings will be held where people can learn more about the proposal and provide comments to commissioners:
·         The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at Gig Harbor City Hall at 6:30 p.m.  No action will be taken at this meeting.
·         The second meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at Gig Harbor City Hall at 6:30 p.m. This will be the commission’s final hearing and they are expected to make a final decision at this meeting.

Comments can also be submitted via email to the commission at:  transc@wstc.wa.gov or mailed to the following address:  PO Box 47308, Olympia, WA.  98504.
