Anthony Ryan De Vera

EVERETT, WA:  The Everett Police Department Major Crimes Unit has developed probable cause for the arrest of Anthony Ryan De Vera for the murder of a 24 year old Everett man yesterday in south Everett.  De Vera is a 21 year old Everett man described as a white male, about 5’10” tall, 250 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  He should be considered armed and dangerous.  If anyone should see him they should not approach or attempt to apprehend.  Please call 911.

On January 19, 2011 at approximately 11:08 a.m. officers responded to 1001 W. Casino Road for a report that a man had been shot. When they arrived they found a 24 year old man dead inside an apartment.  The man appeared to have been shot at least once. The total number of rounds fired is still being determined.

Investigators talked with the reporting party, who is the renter of the apartment.  He indicated that he and several other friends that included the suspect had been at the apartment most of the night partying and playing cards.  Most of the guests had left at various times throughout the night until only the victim, suspect, and apartment renter remained.

Sometime in the mid-morning a friend of the renter arrived at the apartment for a previously planned get together to work on the renter’s car. They were outside the apartment when suspect De Vera came outside and began to walk away from the apartment complex.  The renter asked De Vera where he was going and was told by the suspect that he had just “had words” with the victim.  The suspect continued walking.  Shortly after that the renter, feeling that something was wrong, went to the apartment and found the victim in the apartment.
