Longtime area resident, former small business owner and dedicated public servant pledges to continue fighting for residents of Everett and Mukilteo
Snohomish County Councilmember Brian Sullivan, a longtime resident and former small business with a career dedicated to public service, announced Tuesday that he will seek re-election to the Snohomish County Council, District 2. Representing Everett and Mukilteo on the County Council, Sullivan has been a champion for job creation, protecting essential services, and preserving our quality of life.
“I went to school here, built a successful business, and raised my kids here,” said Sullivan. “I have served as a Mayor, a legislator and now council member and understand both the opportunities and challenges we face. I am proud of the work I have done in my first term, but there is still much to be done.”
In his first term on the Council, Sullivan was part of the team that secured final assembly of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner contract in Everett, and fought for the Esterline Control Systems relocation resulting in 1,000 jobs for Snohomish County residents. He also pushed to complete the 41st Street Interchange in Everett ahead of schedule, saving residents time and money, and advocated for the Sustainable Lands Initiative to protect vital County farmlands and waterways.
Sullivan said, “In my next term I will keep fighting for the people and priorities I have represented throughout my career: opportunities for working families; a safety net for seniors, children, and our most vulnerable residents; and the health of our natural resources.”
Sullivan’s campaign is getting underway, including the launch of his campaign website www.ElectBrianSullivan.com. Brian will be speaking with voters at homes and community events across the district over the course of the campaign.
Before serving on the County Council, Sullivan represented the 21st legislative district in the Washington State House of Representatives and as Mayor of Mukilteo prior to that. A graduate of Mariner High School, Brian lives in Everett with his kids, Riley and Michael.
