Robert Toyer announced his candidacy for Marysville City Council Position 5, seeking to lead Marysville to new opportunities that will move the City beyond these difficult economic times. "I feel a strong call of duty to serve my community, just as I served my country in Operation Iraqi Freedom," said Toyer, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant.
"As a small business owner in this community, I understand the challenges existing businesses and new entrepreneurs face day to day. And, as a father of a beautiful daughter, I understand the need for quality of life in our community. And upon election to the Council I will work on behalf of the entire community to ensure Marysville has a bright future."
A longtime resident of this Marysville's Whiskey Ridge neighborhood, Robert was a 1999 graduate of Lake Stevens High School and later a 2007 graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in Finance. He opened Toyer Wealth Management in 2010 and has served on the Marysville Planning Commission since January 2011. He is also a board member of the Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and is active in several other business organizations in Snohomish County.
