Snohomish County, Wash. – Three service alternatives for Community Transit’s February 2012 system change will be presented to the agency’s Board of Directors at its June 2 meeting. The meeting will take place at 3 p.m. in the Board Room, located at 7100 Hardeson Road, Everett (accessible by Everett Transit Route 8).
Each of the system change alternatives will eliminate about 80,000 hours, or 20 percent, of service. One alternative would provide about 30 percent of the level of Sunday service that had been operated prior to June 2010. All three alternatives have impacts throughout the system. The changes are necessary because of the prolonged impact of the recession on sales tax revenue, which provides the majority of the agency’s funding.
The board also will consider authorizing the CEO to negotiate and award the DART paratransit service contract, and will hear a presentation on fuel hedging options.
