Marysville, Wash. — One of the regular customers at Sno-Isle Libraries divulged exciting news to a Sno-Isle staff member — she had not one, but two job offers!
What led up to such a wonderful dilemma? This diligent job seeker became a familiar face at the library since she came in most mornings to use the library’s computers to search and apply for jobs. She also turned to WorkSource for their useful employment services. It certainly paid off. Now her biggest problem is deciding which job offer to accept.
Job seekers in this tough economy need all the help they can get. Sno-Isle Libraries, in partnership with WorkSource, is offering nine “Creating a Targeted Resume” workshops to give job seekers an edge. The free workshops help job applicants get noticed by application screeners with a resume that is targeted toward a specific job. They will learn to develop an effective, targeted resume by identifying and packaging the skills that employers value.
· Marysville Library, Monday, Sept. 12, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Preregistration is required by contacting the library: http://www.sno-isle.org/?ID=1177
With a targeted resume, job seekers will increase their chances of getting interviews and ultimately landing the right job, while employers will be able to hire the person with the right qualifications for a good match.
