HYAK – With more dry weather in the forecast, crews will continue to install more lane markings on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass.
On Friday, Dec. 9 and Monday, Dec. 12, during daylight hours, the Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will install reflective, recessed lane markings on eastbound I-90 between Hyak (milepost 55) and the snowshed (milepost 58). Drivers may experience minor delays.
During the winter the painted stripes over the pass fade due to wear from snowplows, trucks with chains, and vehicles with studded tires. The reflective lane markers will be inset into the concrete to protect them from wear and provide better visibility between the lanes.
