MONROE – WORK HAS BEEN CANCELED. Late-night drivers who use State Route 522 near Monroe should plan ahead for full closures of the highway overnight tonight and Thursday as crews install a new sign bridge.
Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close both directions of SR 522 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Jan. 25 and Jan. 26, between US 2 and 164th St. as they install a new sign bridge. The sign bridge will span both directions of the highway near the new flyover ramp from eastbound SR 522 to eastbound US 2.
This work is part of a larger project to improve the SR 522/US 2 interchange and widen more than four miles of SR 522 near Monroe.
