Everett, WA:   The Everett Police Department is investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian accident in Everett.

Just before 3:00 p.m. on August 30th, 2012, the Everett Police Department was dispatched to the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident at the intersection of 112th St SE and Evergreen Way (Hwy 99).  As officers arrived they discovered a 29 year old Everett woman had been struck by a SUV traveling southbound on Evergreen Way as she stepped into the crosswalk.  The driver of the SUV, a 29 year old Everett man, remained at the scene and also called 911 to summon aid.  The woman suffered serious injuries to her shoulder, chest and legs and was transported to Providence Medical Center – Colby Campus.  It is believed that while sever, her injuries are non-life threatening.

It is believed the woman stepped off the curb against the signal and the SUV was unable to stop before hitting her.  Everett detectives are investigating the incident.

Southbound traffic on Evergreen Way was temporarily stopped for the incident.  All lanes of traffic are open at this time.
