Washington Policy Center, the state’s premier independent public policy think tank, has hired Dan Sytman as its new director of communications and marketing.
Sytman will oversee strategic communications and media outreach for the organization, including long-range media strategy, social media and member services. He will also manage the organization’s popular blog.
Dan brings a wealth of communications and public policy experience to Washington Policy Center. His background includes public affairs, communications, program management and media relations. He has worked most recently as deputy communications director for the state Attorney General’s Office, and has extensive media experience in news radio, where he hosted and produced programs for over 12 years.
“Dan will play a key role in taking our research and informed commentary to a wider audience, both in our state and increasingly across the country,” said Washington Policy Center President Daniel Mead Smith. “His proven record and foresight make him a great addition to our team.”
Sytman replaces former WPC communications director John Barnes, who has taken a position with Montana’s newly elected attorney general.
