STANWOOD – Starting at 5 a.m. tomorrow, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin a series of around-the-clock lane closures to repair several broken concrete panels on northbound Interstate 5 near Stanwood.
To complete this work, crews will reduce northbound I-5 to one lane just north of the 300th Avenue Northwest interchange (exit 215) and south of the Starbird Road (exit 218) interchange. Crews will open two lanes to traffic at 5 a.m. on Friday to keep traffic moving during the weekend when traffic volumes are typically higher. Drivers should expect lengthy delays and take alternate routes if possible.
Lane closure details:
Last week, WSDOT maintenance closed a short section of the far right lane after engineers found several cracked concrete panels in need of immediate repair.
More information on this and other closures can be found on our Construction Update page: hwww.wsdot.wa.gov/Northwest/Snohomish/Construction/.
