A vehicle turning out of a parking lot crashes into a bush shelter and seriously injures one man.
On Sunday, April 7, 2013, just after 10:00 a.m., a Ford F-250 pickup truck turned right onto the 2000 block of Everett Ave from the McDonalds restaurant. The vehicle continued turning and ran into an Everett Transit bus shelter. One male occupant was inside the shelter and suffered serious injuries. The male, a 51 year-old Everett man, was transported to Providence Medical Center - Colby Campus for medical attention but his due to the extent of his injuries was transferred to Harborview Medical Center.
Traffic detectives responded to the scene. During the investigation, factors led detectives to suspect the driver, a 66 year-old Everett man, was under the influence. He was arrested and taken to Providence Medical Center - Colby Campus. Once there, the driver was admitted for medical conditions not related to the collision.
At this time, the male victim is still at Harborview Medical Center and listed in satisfactory condition. The driver was released from Providence Medical Center. Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
