Drivers should prepare for nighttime full and partial closures of US 2 near Snohomish next week.
The closures are needed as contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation work to complete the new US 2 Bickford Avenue overpass. During the closures, they will install new drainage systems, add curbing and begin painting the new overpass. The improved interchange also features new eastbound on- and off-ramps.
Monday, Aug. 19
· One eastbound lane between State Route 204/20th Avenue Southeast and State Route 9 will close from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, only.
· Access to and from Bickford Avenue will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Monday, Aug 19 – Wednesday, Aug. 21
· Westbound US 2 will be closed between State Route 9 and State Route 204/20th Avenue Southeast nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The westbound on-ramp from SR 9 to US 2 will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Access to and from Bickford Avenue will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
· During the full westbound closures of US 2, drivers will follow a signed detour via SR 9 and 20th Avenue Southeast.
No closures of US 2 or the SR 9 ramps will occur during the Evergreen State Fair which runs from Thursday, Aug. 22 to Monday, Sept. 2.
