Seattle, WA – It’s being called a seed crisis by those in the industry – the problem is that as much as 80% of oyster larvae in Washington State is are dying off. Experts say worldwide, 77 tons of carbon dioxide is released into the air each day, changing the chemical balance of local waters and threatening the 100 million dollar industry for the state. The smaller the town, the greater chance it will be hit hard by any cuts to Social Security, according to a new analysis on the rural-news website, the Daily Yonder. The review by the Center for Rural Strategies says that is simply because rural areas have a higher percentage of people who receive those benefits.
