WA Faculty: New Higher Ed Funding Ideas "Unrealistic"
The recommendations of a 16-member Higher Education Funding Task Force are in, and Gov. Christine Gregoire is asking the Legislature to adopt them. But the chief spokesman for faculty members at Washington's six publicly funded four-year institutions says the panel's plans are unrealistic.

Nighttime drivers planning to use eastbound State Route 520 should plan to take alternate routes across and around Lake Washington next week as crews working for WSDOT continue to install tolling equipment on the SR 520 bridge.

SR 520 pontoon project open house set for Jan. 19
The countdown to construction is under way in Grays Harbor and a Jan. 19 open house gives the community a chance to learn more about upcoming work to build concrete pontoons for a replacement State Route 520 floating bridge.
