As the holiday season comes into full swing many folks enjoy looking back at the year behind them as well as taking a glance forward and envisioning what is to come.
Seeing the growth of the City of Lake Stevens in the past year is exciting, bringing with it a friendly, neighborly feel to all of our fellow Lake Stevens residents. (Do we call them Lake Stevensonians or Lake Stevenites? Good question!)
We have seen some of our local businesses leave us as the economy has taken its toll, but others have sprung forward in their place. The same is true for our residential neighbors.
We have been witness to extreme outpourings of love and generosity through donations to the Lake Stevens Food Bank and The Lake Stevens Family Center as well as local churches.
Firefighters, school children, Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary and American Legion members have served their fellowman and have helped to ensure that no one in Lake Stevens goes hungry or is left without a gift under the Christmas tree this year.
We at the Lake Stevens Journal have been witness to so many wonderful event that have happened throughout the year and especially during this season of giving.
We are honored to be a part of everyday life here in Lake Stevens and are even more honored that you, our readers, welcome us into your homes each and every week.
Most of our staff live right here and would not have it any other way. Those of us who don’t live within the city limits live nearby and have made Lake Stevens their ‘home’ in many other ways.
We have enjoyed showcasing all of the awards, championship teams, special honors and achievements of your children. We feel it a privilege to be your Hometown Newspaper.
As we enjoy our 50th year bringing the news to Lake Stevens, we want to thank each and every one of our readers, advertisers and supporters. We love this town and thoroughly enjoy being an integral part of it.
Merry Christmas from our families to yours! We hope you enjoy peace and love throughout the season!
