Mourning the loss of a family

How could a father, who has been trying to compel the courts that he is stable and a good dad to his two small boys, take a hatchet to them and then blow them up, after allegedly killing their mother and stuffing her into the trunk of his car?
Another question is how did this man fool so many people for so long including a wife and her family, friends, neighbors? Maybe he didn’t—maybe that’s why Susan Powell is missing and two small boys are dead.
According to court documents, during the divorce of his parents years ago, his mother reported that Josh Powell was killing hamsters and that his father was not a good influence on him.
Even his own sister knew that something was wrong and believed that he was the reason Susan Powell had disappeared over two years ago in the Utah desert.
It seems that his deception was coming to the surface and Josh Powell’s true identity was being found out.
What makes a man turn into a monster the way it seems that Josh Powell did? I don’t know the answer to that question and there are probably only a handful of people who do, but it happened and now three lives have been taken needlessly and Powell himself will have to answer to God about what he did to his family.
Susan’s family, the Coxes, must be going through unimaginable pain and torment after burying their two grandchildren and still not having any idea where their daughter is.
Watching the tragic scene of the explosion and fire and hearing the gory details of their grandsons’ deaths repeated constantly on local and national news stations must be agonizing for this loving family.
Maybe it was a blessing that those boys didn’t have to live with the man who, it seems, killed their mother. A man who may have had sexual and criminal problems above and beyond what we have all suspected. A man that would rather take the life of his children then let them be happy with anyone else.
Knowing that Charlie and Braden are in the loving arms of their mother is, I am sure, the only way the Cox family is able to go on at this solemn time.
It seems that the last selfish act Josh Powell played was killing himself and taking the lives of those sweet boys, before he told anyone where Susan is.
My hope is that all of those who have been involved with this tragic case will have peace and comfort and that we can all soon learn what happened to Susan Powell.
