Mentors are important in the lives of children

Dear Editor,

Thanks to Pam Stevens for her recent editorial on mentoring at-risk youth. As an employee of the largest mentoring agency in America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, I want to echo her sentiments about the opportunity to change a life—both the child’s and the mentor’s.
You are changed by investing in a child’s life and of course, the child’s life can be significantly
altered by the inclusion of another caring and consistent adult.
Mentors are important in the lives of children
We have several boys and girls waiting for committed community based “Bigs” in Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Arlington, and Marysville. We also still need several school based Bigs in the Everett and Edmonds school districts.

Would you consider being that adult to help change a life? Check us out at www.facebook.com/bbbssnoco or call 425-252-2227.
