The police department responded to 587 incidents in the week of January 10, 2010 through January 16, 2010. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable contacts:

Fraud, 01/12/10, 700 blk Sr 9
A 33-year-old female had forgery charges referred to the prosecutor’s office. Officers were dispatched to a check fraud complaint. Upon arrival, officers contacted the employee who stated that an unknown female attempted to cash a $2000 check. Through further investigation by the employee, it was found the check was written on a closed account. The employee provided video surveillance of the female trying to cash the check, in addition to the license plate of her car. A computer check of the license plate identified the suspect and she was contacted at her residence. The female admitted to being at the store but not to the fraud. A report was filed and forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

Attempted Robbery/Assault 2, 01/12/10, 2200 blk 127th Avenue NE
An attempted robbery report is under investigation after a group of unknown males assaulted the victim and attempted to steal money. Officers were dispatched to an assault complaint and upon arrival contacted the 18-year-old victim. The victim stated that while out for a walk, a vehicle stopped and the occupants exited the car. The males approached the victim, striking him several times, and then took his wallet. The suspects quickly went through it, as though they were looking for money, and discovering that it was empty, they threw it on the ground and left. AID was dispatched to evaluate the victim’s injuries, and the victim was able to provide officers with a partial license plate of the suspect vehicle. A report was filed for additional investigation.

Weapon Violation, 01/13/10, 2900 blk 113th Avenue NE
A 16-year-old male was booked into Denny Youth Center on weapon violation charges. School security reported receiving a complaint that a student was observed carrying a dagger and a sharpening stone. Officers contacted the student and seized the dagger and sharpening stone as evidence. The student stated that he had no intent of harming anyone and that he didn’t know the knife was illegal to have on school grounds. The male was booked into Denny Youth Center and the report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for charging. 

DV Assault 2, 01/16/10, 700 blk 89th Avenue SE
A 45-year-old male was booked into Snohomish County jail on domestic violence assault charges. Officers were dispatched to an assault complaint and contacted the victim. The victim stated that her husband threatened her with a knife and that she was afraid. The suspect was contacted and denied threatening her. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail without incident.
