Garvie Trial Postponed

Journal Staff The trial of Eugene Brian Garvie which was set to begin in January has been delayed.

Due to earlier unforeseen hospital stays for Deputy Prosecutor Mark Roe, and other delays by Defense Attorney John Crowley, the trial has been pushed back one, maybe two months.

At this time there is no trial date set.Garvie had been a youth wrestling referee since 1989 who prosecutors allege traded alcohol and drugs for sex and nude photo sessions that involved young males he met through wrestling.

Garvie was charged with 10 felony sex crime charges back in May of 2006, and was jailed in lieu of a $1 million bail at a brief hearing before Snohomish County Superior Court Judge James Allendoerfer.
