High-speed chase ensues on Soper Hill Road

BY PAM STEVENS | EDITOR During a routine traffic stop on Monday, June 25, an Everett Police Officer ran the license plate of the vehicle and found the car had been stolen. The driver took off in the stolen vehicle and headed towards Lake Stevens.

Lake Stevens Police along with other police departments in the area were contacted to help locate the red Honda Civic.

Within a few minutes the vehicle was located in the Lake Stevens area and officers were in pursuit of the stolen car and its driver.

The car was dumped on the 1800 block of 83rd Ave. NE. Shortly thereafter, officers from Marysville, Snohomish city, Snohomish County, Everett and Lake Stevens all worked together to set up containment to find the suspect.

A police helicopter was also brought in to help assist with an aerial search of the suspect.

According to Commander Dan Lorentzen of the Lake Stevens Police, a citizen called and reported seeing a man who matched the suspect’s description covered in mud, coming out of the Frontier Heights area.

A K-9 police unit was called in and tracked the young adult, white male off of Lundeen Parkway.

“He indicated that the car was given to him from a friend,” Cmdr. Lorentzen said.

The man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and attempting to elude a police vehicle.
