Local businesses asked to support local families

BY PAM STEVENS | EDITOR Pacific Ridge Homes donates $10,000 Even with the housing market slowing down a bit here in the Pacific Northwest, Pacific Ridge Homes is spreading Christmas cheer with the Lake Stevens Family Center by donating $10,000 towards helping local families have a happy and memorable Christmas.

This is the third year that Pacific Ridge has donated money to the Family Center.

The check was presented to Linda Rudat, Program Coordinator for the Lake Stevens Family Center at the Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce’s December meeting on Monday.

All that was asked is that those present help out in any way they can this holiday season.

“Pacific Ridge is challenging Chamber members to collectively match this support in providing local families with the services and opportunities necessary to build a healthy community in our area,” Friend said.

Rudat explained that beacuse of the increase in families needing help in the community, Pacific Ridge wanted to help out as much as they could.
“The Family Center is dealing with more than a 30 percent increase in requests for help in almost every program we have,” Rudat said. “Donations like this represent Pacific Ridge’s choice to make an investment into the community and make sure that individuals are not only receiving basic assistance but are also receiving services so they can be self-sufficient and make contributions back to our community.”
