Local Mayor takes a fall on Lake
Stevens during Aquafest

Marine is recovering at his home in Mukilteo. JOURNAL STAFF While many around town were enjoying the Aquafest celebrations in town, Mukilteo Mayor Joe Marine, was out waterskiing on Lake Stevens, Saturday, July 26.

While on his last run of the day, Marine noticed a parked jet ski floating on a buoy with a black tarp covering it.

Knowing he would not be able to avoid the jet ski on such short notice, he used his water-skis as a shield. He was then hit in the tailbone.

As his family pulled him into the boat, they noticed that he was bleeding and what looked like part of his tailbone peaking through.

Marine is recovering at home but is still unable to sit.

Lake Stevens Police are investigating it as a boat accident.
