News Release The police department responded to 504 incidents in the week of July 20 to July 26, 2008. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable contacts:

Obstructing Law Enforcement Officer, possession of Drug Paraphernalia (VUCSA), Bail Jumping, 07/20/2008, 300 blk 91st Ave NE
A 43-year-old male was arrested for Obstructing Law Enforcement Officer and VUCSA and a 36-year-old male was arrested for Bail Jumping. Officers contacted the males for harassing a female. Upon contact, the 43-year-old male gave a false name, and he was taken into custody. A search of his person revealed drug paraphernalia. The officer transported him to jail to be identified, at which time he was cited and released. A computer check on the 36-year-old suspect revealed that he had non-extraditable warrant. The subject said he was aware of the warrant and he is unable to take care of it at this time. Charges were referred to the city prosecutor for Bail Jumping.

Driving While License Suspended 3° (DWLS 3°) 07/21/2008, SR 9 and SR 204
A 40-year-old female was cited for DWLS 3°. The female was contacted after the officer ran a computer check which revealed that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. The officer contacted the driver and confirmed her identity. The 40-year-old female was cited and released from the scene.

Burglary/Theft, 07/22/2008, 1900 blk of 125th Ave NE
A 34-year-old male reported that his home had been burglarized and several items had been taken. The officer arrived on scene to discover that the front door had been pried open and several items dumped all over the floor. The victims stated that several items were taken. Statements were taken from the victims and a case number was assigned. The case was referred to the detective unit for further investigation.

Littering Over 1 Cubic Yard, 07/23/08, 2000 blk of 130th Dr NE
A 59-year-old male reported several bags of garbage had been dumped in the creek behind his home. It appeared to be ordinary kitchen garbage. Photos were taken and the garbage was removed from the creek. An informational report was taken.

Assault 4° Domestic Violence (DV), and Malicious Mischief, 07/26/08, 2000 blk of 131 Ave NE
A 44-year-old female was arrested for Assault 4° DV and Malicious Mischief. A 46-year-old male reported that his girlfriend slammed his head and hand in the door and damaged the door. Contact was made with the female who had a strong odor of intoxicants. The female was taken into custody and booked into jail.
