A report was taken and forwarded to detectives for additional investigation after a dumpster was set on fire. A male driving by noticed the fire and called 911. The fire department responded and requested police respond due to the suspicious nature of the fire. The fire was contained to the dumpster and its contents. The scene was photographed and the report was forwarded to detectives for investigation.
Malicious Mischief, 9/08/2008, 1600 E Lakeshore Drive
A vandalism report was taken after an employee discovered someone attempted to steal one of their business vehicles. Officers were dispatched to a theft complaint, and upon arrival contacted the 29-year-old complainant. The male showed the officer the vehicle which had the ignition punched and damage done to the face plate of the radio. There was dried blood on the ignition. A sample of the blood was taken and sent for a lab test. The vehicle was photographed and a report was filed.
Assault 4, 9/08/2008, 8800 blk 13th Place Ne
An 18-year-old male was booked into jail on assault charges. Officers were dispatched to an assault complaint. While enroute the officers were advised that the suspect fled on foot. Upon arrival, they contacted the victim who reported that he was arguing with his brother and his brother punched him in the face. The suspect was located and placed into custody.
Collision, 9/11/08, 300 blk 91st Avenue Ne
A collision report was taken on a non-injury, two vehicle accident. A waste management truck rear-ended a four door passenger vehicle. The drivers exchanged information and the truck driver left the scene prior to police arriving.
