Lights and SirensThe police department responded to 451 incidents in the week of November 2, 2008 to November 8, 2008. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable events:
Stolen Vehicle Recovery, 11/03/08, 1800 blk N. Machias Road
A 29-year-old male was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. While on patrol, an officer conducted a computer check of a license plate which revealed the car had been reported stolen out of the City of Marysville. Officers stopped the vehicle and placed the male driver and the female passenger in custody. The passenger was questioned and released from the scene. The vehicle was impounded and the male was booked into jail.
Warrant Service, 11/04/08, 900 blk Vernon Road
A 40-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants and refusing to cooperate with an officer. Officers stopped a vehicle for defective equipment. Upon contacting the driver, he stated that he did not have any form of identification with him and verbally gave the officer a false name. The male was placed into custody when the officer couldn’t verify the information he provided. During a search of his person a statement was found with his name on it. A computer check of his true identity revealed multiple arrest warrants. The male was booked into jail.
Dog Bite, 11/05/08, 10000 blk 1st Place Ne
A dog was placed in quarantine after biting a 52-year-old male. Officers were dispatched to an animal control complaint and upon arrival contacted the victim. The male stated that he went for a walk and his neighbor’s dog bit him on his lower left leg. The victim’s injuries were photographed. The owner of the dog was notified of the incident and made arrangements for the dog’s quarantine.
