and Sirens The police department responded to 435 incidents in the week of December 14, 2008 to December 20, 2008. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable events: Possession with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, 12/13/08 9300 blk of N. Davies Rd
Two 20-year-old males were arrested, one for possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and the other for possession of marijuana. An officer was conducting a security check on the local business in the area and discovered a suspicious vehicle. The officer approached the suspicious vehicle and observed three people none of them in the driver’s seat. A computer check on the passengers was run to confirm their identities. Another officer arrived to assist and observed one of the male passengers trying to conceal a baggie. The car was searched and it was discovered that another male was in possession of marijuana. It was later learned that the baggie contained ecstasy. Both male were arrested and booked onto jail.
Assault 4 Domestic Violence (DV), 12-17-08, 2000 blk of 114th Dr NE
Officers received a complaint about a 31-year-old female being abused by her 37-year-old boyfriend. An anonymous male called and stated that the female was at the doctor because she and her boyfriend were arguing and he pushed her and she fell and hit her head on a chair. Officers made contact with the female and she confirmed she and her boyfriend had been arguing, but that she fell in the snow. Witnesses stated that that he had pushed her and she fell. Charges are being sent to the prosecutor for review.
Theft 3°, 12/19/08, 9600 blk of Market Pl
A 38-year-old male was cited for Theft 3°. Officers responded to a shoplifting complaint. The store security had one adult male detained. Officers arrived on scene and took custody of the male who stated that he took the video games so that he could resale them. The male was trespassed and cited and release with a court date.
Driving While Under the Influence (DUI), 12/14/08, 900 blk of Lundeen Parkway
A 46-year-old female was arrested for DUI. The female was contacted by an officer after she was seen sitting in her running vehicle behind a local business that was closed at the time. The female displayed obvious signs of being intoxicated, but due to health problems she was limited on the tests she was able to perform. The few tests that she was given she failed along with the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC). The vehicle was impounded and she was cited and released with a court date.
