Lake Stevens man fatally injured while riding lawnmower near Highway 92

BY PAM STEVENS | EDITOR On Sunday, Feb. 15, Lake Stevens resident, Leslie Robbins, 55, was killed in Granite Falls while riding his lawnmower down 75th Street NE near Highway 92.

Around noon on Sunday, Robbins collided with a Honda Accord and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.

The 47-year-old driver of the Honda wasn’t charged, Rebecca Hover, Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokesperson said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call that a small vehicle had struck the riding lawnmower. Medics arrived shortly thereafter and airlifted the man to Harborview in Seattle.

The driver of the Honda Accord has no sign of injuries and investigators found no signs of drugs, alcohol or speed was involved in the collision, Sheriff’s County spokesman Rodney Rochon said.
