This year was the eighth Battle of the Books with North Lake Middle School battling Lake Stevens Middle School for the prize. The battle had 26 different teams competing. There were three rounds. In order to make it to the third round, the championship round, you had to score the most points in the prior rounds.
The four teams that made it to the championship round were Marley and Us (NLMS), Swedish Geekazoids (LSMS), The Flickers (LSMS), and Team Awesome (NLMS). Marley and Us came in first place. The Flickers came in second and the Swedish Geekazoids came in third. North Lake Middle took the championship, and Lake Stevens Middle is waiting until next year to come in first place.
