Ricky Edward Olson, a level three sex offender, has moved into the city of Granite Falls.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s office held a community meeting last Thursday, Jan. 21 to inform the public.
Each of Olson’s victims were known to him. He was convicted in Minnesota for each of the crimes.

According to official documents Olson pled guilty in Pennington County, Minn. District Court in Nov. 1999 to one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison which was suspended and he was placed on probation. This conviction was the result of Olson sexually assaulting the 13-year-old female victim. His probation was revoked as the result of a new conviction.

In March of 2001 Olson pled guilty in Marshall County, Minn. District Court to one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree. He was sentenced to 27 months in prison. Olson was transferred to the state of Washington in July of 2002 through an interstate compact from Minnesota.

In March 2003 it was reported that Olson had inappropriate sexual contact with a known 16-year-old female.
Olson had his probation revoked and was returned to Minnesota to serve his original  sentence.
Olson participated in sex offender treatment and has been terminated from treatment on two occasions while in prison in Minnesota.

He is currently under supervision with the Washington State Department of Corrections, Marysville field office for a period of 18 months.
