Deputies arrest man after another was stopped for stolen vehicle

Published on Mon, Feb 22, 2010 by BY PAM STEVENS | MANAGING EDITORSnohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the driver of a stolen vehicle last Saturday morning on Machias Road near Lake Stevens. “It started off with deputies stopping the driver of a stolen vehicle. The driver fled to a nearby house and was later arrested,” Snohomish County Sheriffs Department spokesperson Rebecca Hover said. During that incident, deputies discovered another man in the house had a warrant for his arrest (but for a different address so the man wouldn’t come out). So deputies got a search warrant for him for that particular address and he was arrested, Hover explained. According to one eyewitness, several people exited the house while deputies were trying to get the man to come out, including three small children and a teenage girl. After deputies arrested the man, items such as stainless steel ovens, dishwashers and microwaves were taken into evidence, according to the witness. There were no weapons and S.W.A.T was not involved in this incident.
