On Saturday, May 15, the City of Lake Stevens will be hosting its annual Spring Cleaning Day Event. This year’s event has a new location. It will be held at the back parking lot at Cavelero Mid High, 8220 24th St. SE, Lake Stevens.
Citizens that reside in the city limits of Lake Stevens may bring most of their items that are typically taken to the dump and dispose of them for free from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. City residents must provide identification with their name and address.
Shred It paper shredding service will be present and accepting personal papers for free shredding. Les Schwab Tire Center will be accepting old tires at no charge. The limit is 10 tires per household and all tires must be standard vehicle size and off the rims. Les Schwab will not be accepting tires on any other day or at any of their stores.
Hazardous waste (paints, chemicals, etc.) will not be accepted at this year’s event. A $25 fee will be charged for the disposal of refrigerators or any items with Freon. TV’s, computers, lap tops, and monitors will be accepted at no charge.
Dry food items for the Lake Stevens Food Bank will be collected at the event. To verify if you live in the city limits or find out how to dispose of hazardous waste for free, please call the Lake Stevens Police Department at 425-334-9537.
