This year’s Lake Stevens 70.3 Ironman Triathlon will be hosting hundreds of athletes plus their friends and family on Sunday, August 15.
This year’s participants also include several athletes from Lake Stevens.
The Ironman 70.3 includes a 1.2 mile swim in the beautiful waters of Lake Stevens, a 56-mile bike ride and 13.1 mile double loop run.
Road closures for the event will begin at 5 a.m. on Sunday, August 15 and go no later than 3 p.m. that same day. The North Cove boat launch and dock will be closed for swimming activities and boat launching from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The boat launch parking area will be closed for staging of bicycles from Friday, August 13 to Sunday, August 15. Main Street in downtown Lake Stevens will be closed from 16th Street NE to 17th Street and portions between 17th Street and North Lakeshore Drive on Sunday only.
The southbound lane of North Lakeshore Drive/Vernon Rd. from the roundabout to Main Street with also be closed.
Portions of North Cove Park will be closed for conduction of award ceremonies and for athlete cool down and refreshments.
Complete maps of both the bicycle and run routes are attached in order for residents to leave extra driving time on the day of the race.
