On Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m., American Legion Post 181 will be remembering former Lake Stevens City Councilmember Jack Blackwell at a flag lowering ceremony in his honor.
Immediately after, the Lake Stevens Lions Club will also be remembering Blackwell at the Lake Stevens Community Center.
Blackwell served in the Army Reserve for 36 years.
He served on the Lake Stevens Planning Commission and City Council until 2000. He also served as a director on the boards of Senior Services of Snohomish County and the Snohomish County Health District.
He was an active volunteer with the Lake Stevens Food Bank and the Everett Chapter of the Red Cross.
