The Lake Stevens Family Center held their annual and only fundraising event Bowl-a–Rama at the New Brunswick Majestic Lanes in Lynnwood on Saturday, Oct. 16.

In a very difficult economy the goal was to at least meet last year’s fundraising total.  Team Aquafest came into the event with the largest pre-event amount raised of $745.

Linda Elledge, Team Captain of  Team Aquafest, threw down the gauntlet to Team Captain and the Lake Stevens /Granite Falls Rotary Club with donations of $565.

The race for the top pledge team began. The Rotary Club answered with an additional on site donation of $310 to take the lead by $130.

Team Aquafest was determined and answered the rally with a last minute donation of $135 for a total team pledge of $880 dollars followed by the Lake Stevens Rotary Club team pledge of $875.

With all the community support the Lake Stevens Family Center was able to double the amount of donations received during the same event in ’09.  The two top Team Captains hugged, high fived and both vowed that they would start earlier in their fundraising efforts for the Lake Stevens Bowl–a–Rama in 2011.

Two youth awards were given out for the highest score for the age groups 11 and over and 10 and under.  Macy Berg won the 11 and over title for the second straight year.

Grace Egelstad won the 10 and under division.  Egelstad shared her award with McKenzie Elledge who was a close second.
Everyone had fun and supported their community with generous donations to the Lake Stevens Family Center.
