Kenji Akazawa, Benjamin Farmer, Michael Kilpatrick and
Cory Maughan were honored at Eagle Scout Court of Honor on February 26.
Kenji Akazawa, Benjamin Farmer, Michael Kilpatrick and Cory Maughan were recently honored at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on February 26.
Akazawa, Kilpatrick and Maughan are members of Troop 192 and Farmer is a member of Troop 183. Both units are sponsored by local congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Akazawa, is a senior attending Snohomish High School as well as class president. His eagle project was taking a census of five sections of the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. This collected data was uploaded to the Tombstone project online, which is a free website for anyone interested in genealogy.
Farmer, is a senior attending Lake Stevens High School. He is also enrolled in the precision machining program at Sno-Isle Tech. His eagle project involved designing, planning and installing water hydrants at Cascade Park in Arlington. Two campsites were supplied water by this project.
Kilpatrick, is a senior attending Snohomish High School. He is a three sport athlete where he experienced much success in football, one meter spring board diving and baseball. His eagle project included improvements to the Snohomish High School baseball field. He upgraded both the home and visiting team’s bullpens and planted trees for a batter’s eye in center field.
Maughan, recently graduated from Snohomish High School in 2010. He is currently in an apprenticeship program that is offered through Northwest Laborers Local 242 out of Seattle.
Maughan’s Eagle project involved the cleaning, repair, painting and sealing of structures at Cascade Park in Arlington.
