The Greater Everett Community Foundation will provide a scholarship to a local community member interested in participating in the Leadership Snohomish County program. The scholarship will pay for the full cost of participation in the 2011-2012 class.
The Signature Leadership Class helps community members develop their leadership skills, to address community challenges. Alumni serve the community in all different capacities. Most will serve the community for 20 or more years. We want to develop their strengths to be effective leaders.
“We are thrilled to be able to partner with the community foundation to provide this support,” said Sarri Gilman, executive director, Leadership Snohomish County. “Most candidates receive funding from their employers to participate, but there are many outstanding individuals who would like to participate in this program and can only do so with financial support.”
The Greater Everett Community Foundation builds permanent grantmaking funds, and provides training and resources to support nonprofits throughout Snohomish County “Strong leadership is essential in our community,” said Maddy Metzger-Utt, President, Greater Everett Community Foundation. “While we spent our first 10 years giving away grants, we hope to spend the next 10 also helping to build the leadership and effectiveness of the nonprofit sector.”
