In an effort to redirect the course of Lake Stevens Fire, the Board of Commissioners exercised the provision in the Fire Chief’s contract to terminate without cause at a Special Commissioner’s Meeting held on September 9, 2010.

Subsequent to the termination of the contract former Chief Faucett challenged the termination and requested binding arbitration to address his claims. On November 4, 2011, Arbitrator George A. Finkle entered a decision upholding the Fire District’s decision and denying all claims raised by former Chief Faucett.

Lake Stevens Fire continues to wish former Chief Faucett well in his future endeavors and appreciates his five and one-half years of service to Lake Stevens Fire.

As this matter is now concluded the Commissioners and staff of Lake Stevens Fire look forward to continuing to focus on it’s mission of Serving People, Saving Life, and Protecting Property.
