Long-time little league football coach Larry Jones had his life changed forever when he tried to help a friend who was being held against her will by an ex-boyfriend in Lake Stevens on Friday, January 6.
Jones, 56, went to the home of his friend and was crushed by the car driven by the friend’s ex-boyfriend.
Jones was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he has been in and out of the Intensive Care Unit for the past few weeks.
Jones can no longer work in the construction field and will lose his health insurance at the end of the month.
Local parents have put together a spaghetti feed as a fundraiser to help Jones with medical and living expenses.
They will be holding the fundraiser at Cavelero Mid High School on Friday, Jan. 27 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The cost for the dinner is $10 and they will be accepting additional donations.
There will also be a raffle with several prizes including an Xbox 360 and dinner for two at Anthony’s Homeport.
