On Friday, March 9, Lake Stevens Fire will be out reminding our community to check their smoke detector batteries at the same time they change their clocks during the weekend. Emergency calls permitting, firefighters will be at both Jay’s Market in downtown Lake Stevens and at Haggen just off Market Place, with this important reminder.
Sunday, March 11 at 2 a.m. marks the official time change in which your clocks will need to “spring forward” an hour.
Smoke detectors equipped with regular 9-volt batteries should be changed when you set your clocks ahead or back. Ten-year lithium batteries do not need to be changed each time you change your clocks, however it’s still important to test your smoke detectors to be sure they are working properly.
It’s that time of year again, remember to change your clocks and check your batteries!
