The Lake Stevens Family Center Youth Advisory Council will be hosting a Youth Forum addressing the issue of cyber-harassment, cyber-bullying, and other dangers of the internet through various social media.

The Youth Advisory Council will focus primarily on issues that occur in our community and more specifically, with the teenagers in the schools.

Cyber-harassment causes several problems among kids, and these problems can potentially lead to some fairly negative consequences.

Parents are sometimes unaware of these consequences and of what these online incidents can cause and the effect that they actually have on their children.

The goal of the Youth Forum is to help parents and the community realize the magnitude of the consequences and hopefully raise awareness of cyber-bullying and cyber-harassment.

The Youth Advisory Council will be holding the Forum at the District Office where School Board meetings are usually held. There will be a presentation, information on what the community can do to help, and a panel that will talk about their thoughts on the issues as well as take any questions that the community might have.

The Forum will be held on Wednesday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. and will go until approximately 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Administration Building Room A.
