Auggie needs a home
Auggie is a stocky English Labrador mix. He is about 10 years old and 75 pounds. He loves to play fetch and sleeping in his dog bed. He likes car rides, short walks and playing in the creek. Auggie has arthritis but it is managed well with medication.
Auggie gets along great with other dogs, although the Old Dog Haven does not know how he reacts with cats or young children.
Auggie is currently in foster care in Stanwood but is looking for a forever home where he can spread his happiness with his owners and fellow pets.
Old Dog Haven operates out of Lake Stevens but they help senior dogs throughout the state by finding loving permanent homes. The organization consists of a group of private foster homes caring for the animals and a network that finds homes where dogs over the age of eight can spend the rest of their lives.
Many of the animals at Old Dog Haven have been neglected or abandoned by their owners or have medical problems and need a place to call home. Older dogs often spend a long time waiting for a home in a shelter or pound. That is where the foster homes step in, they give the animals a stable and loving environment where they can interact with other animals while waiting for a permanent home.
You can help Old Dog Haven care for these animals by donating important items like dog beds, flea treatments and of course monetary donations. A full “wish list” can be found online at their website at olddoghaven.org. Monetary donations can be sent to 621 State Route 9 NE - PMB-4A Lake Stevens, Washington 98258.
If you are looking for a new best friend Old Dog Haven’s website, olddoghaven.org, has listings of dogs around Western Washington that are looking for homes. There is also a part of the site dedicated to happy endings, so you can see the great work that Old Dog Haven does.
