The results have been tabulated in the first round of voting in The Animal Rescue Site’s 2012 $300,000 Challenge in conjunction with Petfinder.com.
Old Dog Haven, Arlington, has won a $1,000 prize for getting the most votes in the state during this stage of the contest.
The second round of voting has now begun, and supporters of Old Dog Haven can help the group bring home another prize by voting once a day at www.theanimalrescuesite.com.
To be eligible for awards, shelters and rescue groups have to be members of Petfinder.com. Grants range from $1,000 to $5,000 in various categories. A complete list of all winners can be found at The Animal Rescue Site, www.theanimalrescuesite.com.
“This program, sponsored since 2008 by The Animal Rescue Site, has been a wonderful opportunity for Petfinder.com members of all sizes to let their fans show their support,” said Liz Neuschatz, director of the Petfinder.com Foundation.
