PUD awards local photos students

The Snohomish County PUD announced the names of the 17 local students, including four from Lake Stevens High School, who have won awards in the utility’s 2012 art and photography competitions. The contests engage students in energy topics.
For the PUD photography contest, high school students were challenged to capture the theme of “Energy in Action” in a photograph.
Five students won awards, as follows:
Lake Stevens High School - Joseph Thomas Palmieri - Grade 10 • Kathryn Danielson- Grade 11 • Tyler Irwin - Grade 11• Jessica Scruggs -Grade 11 Snohomish High School - Kathryn Roberts - Grade 11.
Winners of all competitions will be recognized at the May 22, 2012, PUD Board of Commissioners meeting. The winning entries will be posted on the PUD website in May; visit www.snopud.com (click on Education).
The art and photography contest winners’ entries also will be on display at the PUD’s Everett headquarters May 14-22, 2012.
